GKV AAC KONARK Block Joining Mortar is a pre-mipre packed Cemenitious adhesives forjoining the AAC blocks, it is cost effective and easy to use product with no curing required at site. GKV AAC KONARK block joining mortar is a Polymer based non shrinkable, self curing mortar material with premix of grey cement, graded sand and polymer for better binding properties.
Preparation & Application
- MORTAR MIXING: In a clean bucket, mix AAC Block Joining Mortar in 25-30% of water.
- MIXING BY MIXER :Mix first for 5-10 min by electrical mixer or hand mixer till homogeneorusly
- MORTAR REMIXING: Mix again for 2-3 minutes. Now thin bed mortar is ready to use.
- CLEAN SURFACE :Before applicationclean the surface of blocks using suitable tool like brush so that any foreign material is not held on the blocks.
- WET SURFACE: Wet the surface of blocks before applying mortar.
- MORTAR SPREAD: Should be spread AAC Block Joining Mortar with 3-4mm thickness.
- DND: Do not disturb the wall after application of mortar for at least 24 hours.
- SETTING TIME :The setting time is affected by climatic conditions, allow stand-alone accordingly.
High Bond Strength & Fast SettingThis AAC block joining mortar delivers high compressive strength (5-7 MPa) and exceptional adhesion for durable, crack-free joints. Thanks to its fast-setting nature, initial set occurs in about 45 minutes and walls are fully cured within 24 hours at 27C, making it ideal for projects requiring quick turnaround.
Easy Mixing & ApplicationWith a simple mixing ratio of 3 parts powder to 1 part water (by volume), this mortar can be easily prepared on-site. Designed for use with manual or applicator tools, the smooth, grey powder spreads effortlessly at the recommended 2-3 mm joint thickness, ensuring uniform and efficient installation.
Safe, Eco-Friendly, and Long-LastingManufactured with high-purity ingredients, this mortar is non-toxic, water-resistant, and environmentally friendly-ideal for modern construction. Store in a cool, dry place to extend its shelf life up to 12 months in unopened packaging, ensuring lasting performance whenever you need it.
FAQ's of AAC Block Joining:
Q: How do I mix AAC block joining mortar for best results?
A: Blend 3 parts powder with 1 part water by volume, stirring thoroughly to achieve a lump-free, smooth paste. Mix only what you can use within 20-30 minutes, as this is the open time for application.
Q: What is the recommended joint thickness and coverage per bag?
A: Apply the mortar at a 2-3 mm joint thickness. A 40 kg bag covers approximately 130-140 sq.ft. at this thickness, delivering optimal adhesion and efficiency for block masonry work.
Q: When can walls be loaded or further construction proceed after using this mortar?
A: The initial set occurs in about 45 minutes, but allow 24 hours at 27C for full curing and maximum strength before subjecting walls to structural loads or continuing construction.
Q: Where should AAC block joining mortar be stored, and how long does it last?
A: Store unopened bags in a cool, dry place away from moisture. The shelf life is up to 12 months when stored under these conditions, ensuring the material retains its bonding properties.
Q: What benefits does this mortar offer compared to traditional cement-sand mix?
A: It provides fast setting, higher bond strength, crack resistance, and greater water resistance, with easier application and less material usage due to thin joint thickness, resulting in better productivity and finish.
Q: Is this product environmentally safe and suitable for indoor usage?
A: Yes, the mortar is non-toxic, eco-friendly, and manufactured from high-purity ingredients. It is safe for use in both indoor and outdoor construction applications.
Q: What application tools and process should be used for best results?
A: Apply the mixed mortar manually or with applicator tools on clean block surfaces, ensuring even spreading to the recommended thickness. Align and press the blocks within the 20-30 minute open time for optimal adhesion.
